Curaçao is one step closer to becoming one of the ‘Greenest’ Countries in the World

Friday, July 29th a third Wind Farm was inaugurated. “With this addition, the daily electricity consumption will be an average of 30% produced by wind energy which makes us rank internationally NR. 2, right behind Denmark, together with Portugal” according to the Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Steven Martina

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) WIND Annual Report of 2015 (issued in 2016), Denmark set a record with a contribution of Wind to National Electricity Demand 2010–2015 of 42%, followed by Portugal with 23%.

Curaçao is well on its way to producing 40% by 2020 and 50% in general before 2030 with the additional investments in solar panels in the upcoming years, this according to the Prime Minister Eugene Rhugenaath
